Our Roots in Chennai
Thulira (translating to "sprout" or "new leaf") was born in Chennai out of a simple observation: the staggering amount of single-use plastic waste generated in our beautiful city and the lack of accessible, everyday alternatives.
What started as a small passion project to find sustainable kitchenware for our own homes quickly blossomed into a movement. We traveled to rural villages, met with traditional artisans, and discovered incredible materials like bamboo, coconut shells, and terracotta that have been used sustainably in India for centuries.
By partnering directly with these artisans, we not only bring you premium eco-friendly products but also help preserve traditional Indian craftsmanship and support rural livelihoods.
